We have once more been offered the opportunity to partner with Barnes & Noble, this time for a pre-Fathers Day Book Fair. Just as they did during the holidays, Barnes & Noble will be offering us proceeds of all sales on Saturday June 17 if a customer mentions 'Rotary Club of Moorestown' during checkout. Our holiday profit from this Book Fair was over $400. This is a great way to raise funds and to promote our Club. Our Club has agreed to provide a Rotary presence at B&N (behind Moorestown Mall on Nixon Drive) for the duration of the day and the evening of Saturday June 17. We will have a table set up and will be staffing the table to answer questions about Rotary. This is a great opportunity to sell ourselves! Questions or to sign up: Karen Olejarz kolejarz@verizon.net A signup sheet will be circulating at upcoming meetings. |

A great opportunity for new and experienced Rotarians to learn and understand how we "make a difference."
ENGAGE YOUR MEMBERS, YOUNG OR EXPERIENCED!
The two closest locations and dates:
Registration information can be found at www.rlinea.org.
The mission of The Rotary leadership Institute is to provide an educational opportunity for Rotarians who want to learn more about Rotary or who have been identified as potential leaders by their clubs.
Rotary clubs need a constant influx of leaders as club officers, since they change every year. It is difficult at the club level to learn enough about the exciting world of Rotary and the leadership skills necessary in volunteer organizations since they are often different from business leadership skills.
WHAT ROTARIANS LEARN AT RLI:
More about the what/where/why of Rotary
How to select service projects
How to work with volunteers
What it takes to lead a club
How we use our $$ to fund projects
Any Rotarian, newcomer and experienced alike, who attends a day of these RLI programs will become a more valuable, and a more dedicated, member of your Rotary club.
WHY SHOULD MY CLUB PARTICIPATE?
If your club members are concerned about its future, they will want the best leaders possible. RLI is an outstanding opportunity for each club to improve the Rotary knowledge of its key people and to be exposed to new ideas of leadership. The exchange of ideas with other experienced Rotarians alone make the courses extremely worthwhile.
Each Rotary Club must have each of their attendees register separately and on-line at www.rlinea.com with payment in advance. (In most cases Rotary Clubs reimburse those fees to all who attend).
REMEMBER - YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY (or notify the club to pay) 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE DATE.
For additional information please feel free to contact me at 732 979-4459 or billdonnelly@bac2profit.com.
I strongly recommend this for all Rotarians. I have completed all 4 courses offerings and am on the faculty of RLI, that's how much I believe in it. It is not just active learning but a tremendous opportunity to talk to other Rotarians from other clubs and other districts to share ideas and meet new friends!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Bill Donnelly

Members of Rotary clubs from Ocean, Monmouth, and Burlington counties plus other volunteers will work to bring an end to hunger on Saturday October 28. Working with Rise Against Hunger, volunteers will pack meals in an assembly line formation within specialized crates to be shipped nationally and internationally to areas around the world with a shortage of food. Funds will be raised for the event from contributions from Rotary Clubs, businesses, and individuals to fund the costs of the meals to help end hunger. The Burlington County location is the Covenant Presbyterian Church 2618 New Albany Road in Cinnaminson. Information or questions: Heidi Tabor tabheidi@gmail.com |
